With a background in documentary film-making and a keen eye for diverse visual storytelling,
Kobi presents a unique and distinctive style with authenticity and humanity at the core of his work.

Ghanaian-born and Canadian-bred, Kobi is a Toronto-based writer and director. Kobi fostered a
passion for film when a video he created was viewed by the Film Arts professor at Humber College.
She suggested that filmmaking might be his true calling.

He wrote and directed his first short film, “Fading”– a narrative exploring a young woman’s longing
for a father she never knew – while pursuing a vocation in Social Work. “Fading” became a competitive
entry at the Cannes International Film Festival’s Short Story Corner.

Kobi has created branded content and television advertisements for Ikea, Holt Renfrew, LCBO, TD Bank
and The Keg Steakhouse. He was commissioned by the CBC Arts channel to profile emerging talents.
His documentary work includes profiles of NBA draft picks, contemporary dance stars, and Order of Canada
recipients.
